Background

I qualified as a homeopath in 1991 and ran a busy practice until 2005 when I retired. Since 1991 I also built up a broad teaching portfolio and a confidential support and supervision service.

I expected to retire completely after I closed my practice but found that my experience was still valued by student and qualified colleagues, hence my ongoing Support Service and Seminars.

Training and involvement with Society of Homeopaths

1987-91

Trained at the College of Classical Homoeopathy, Devon and awarded LCCH.

Also Basic Counselling course at Exeter college.

1991-93

Student Counsellor at College of Classical Homoeopathy and awarded MCCH.

Also Postgraduate course led by the late Kenneth Metson and awarded Diploma of Advanced Clinical Homoeopathy.

1992 + Student Supervisor for Bristol, Taunton, Exeter and London colleges.
1994 Registered with Society of Homoeopaths, RSHom.
1996 City and Guilds 7307 Adult Education Teachers Certificate.
1999-2004 Member of Society of Homoeopaths Professional Conduct Steering Group working on revised Code of Ethics and confidential professional conduct matters.
2004-05 Director on the Board of the Society of Homeopaths with particular interest in members’ welfare and improving financial incomes. Resigned from the Society at end of 2007.

Teaching experience

1991 +

Further education groups and Exeter Postgraduate Medical Centre lecture.

Also peer group teaching for South West Homeopathic Group and Society of Homeopaths' CPD groups.

1997 + Visiting Lecturer at Contemporary College of Homeopathy, Taunton and Exeter.
2004 + Travelling teacher for UK CPD groups on various subjects.
Homoeopathic practice and CPD
1991-2005

General practice with particular interest in stress-related and emotional illness, cancer, chemical poisoning, the elderly, sexual difficulties, ethics and professional conduct.

I ran an unusual home-based and domiciliary practice: visiting patients in hospital, at their workplace, in their own home, etc.

I also had regular supervision and CPD, mainly with the South West Homoeopathic Group and Society of Homoeopaths workshops and seminars.

1996 Founder member and Chair of the South West Homoeopathic Group.
Since retirement
2005 + I still run the Homeopathic Support Service for students and practitioners which offers confidential support on all aspects of study and practice.
Jan-July 2007 Set up and supervised a new experimental practice with two 4th year students at the Fountain for Health clinic, Teignmouth, Devon
